Privacy Policy

Who we are

This website is operated by Kate Reardon, based in Ocean Shores, New South Wales, Australia. For anything in this policy, contact kate@katereardon.com.au.

The Held meditation app at held.katereardon.com.au is a separate service with its own privacy policy. This one covers katereardon.com.au only.

What we collect, and when

We only collect information you give us directly. There are three ways that happens:

• When you contact us. The enquiry form collects your name, email address and whatever you write in your message. That is emailed to Kate and answered personally.
• When you join the newsletter. Your email address, and your name if you give it, is added to our mailing list.
• When you buy something. Checkout collects your name, email address, phone number and, for anything posted to you, a delivery address in Australia. For Bloom, checkout also asks a few short intake questions so Kate can prepare your order. Your card details are entered directly with Stripe, our payment processor, and never touch our systems.

We do not run advertising trackers or analytics scripts on this site, and we do not buy data about you from anyone.

How we use it

• To reply to your enquiry.
• To fulfil and deliver your order, and to send you a confirmation of it.
• To send the newsletter you asked for. Every edition carries an unsubscribe link.
• To meet our legal obligations, such as keeping records of sales for tax purposes.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not use it for purposes you would not reasonably expect from the context in which you gave it.

Who helps us handle it

A small number of service providers process information on our behalf. Each one is bound by its own privacy commitments and receives only what it needs to do its job:

• Stripe processes payments and holds your card details. Stripe may store data outside Australia, including in the United States.
• Mailchimp holds the newsletter list. Mailchimp stores data in the United States.
• Resend delivers our transactional emails, such as order confirmations.
• Vercel hosts this website. Standard server logs, including IP addresses, are kept briefly for security and reliability.

By using this site you consent to your information being handled by these providers, including where that involves storage overseas.

Cookies

At the moment this site sets no tracking or advertising cookies. The only cookie it may set is a functional one, for instance to remember that you have unlocked a private resources page. Stripe sets its own cookies during checkout for fraud prevention; those are governed by Stripe's policy.

If we introduce analytics or marketing cookies in future, we will update this policy before they go live, explain what they do, and tell you how to opt out.

How long we keep it

• Enquiries are kept in Kate's email for as long as they are useful to the conversation.
• Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe, after which they are removed from the active list.
• Order records are kept for seven years, as Australian tax law requires.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not legally required to keep it. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any edition. To exercise any of these rights, email kate@katereardon.com.au. We will respond within 30 days.

If you believe we have mishandled your information and are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. This site is served over HTTPS, payments are handled entirely by Stripe, and access to the systems above is limited to Kate and the people who help run the site. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

This site and its products are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of the page. Significant changes will be noted in the newsletter.
